Choosing A New Pattern: Trauma EAL
A grounded path toward regulation, resilience, and the freedom to choose differently.
Service Description
Choosing a New Pattern: Trauma EAL A steady, supportive equine assisted learning experience designed to help participants explore new ways of responding, relating, and grounding after trauma. This program weaves together principles from The Power of Decision, Man’s Search for Meaning, The Body Keeps the Score, and Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself to gently support awareness, self regulation, choice, and embodied change. Participants engage in mindful, on the ground activities with the horses that emphasize safety, presence, and the possibility of new patterns. The focus is not on revisiting traumatic events, but on cultivating regulation, agency, and meaning in the present moment. 1 Hour Session A focused, grounding experience introducing somatic awareness, self regulation skills, and gentle interaction with the horse. Best for 1–2 participants. 2 Hour Session A deeper, more spacious session with extended time for reflection, regulation practices, and experiential learning with the horse. Best for groups of up to 4 participants. Designed for ages 7 and up. If participants are under age 7, the session shifts to a more casual, curiosity based format centered on gentle interaction and petting the horse. If a group includes mixed ages, such as a family, the session will be tailored to the youngest participant to ensure safety, comprehension, and emotional pacing.
